Chasing Waterfalls: A Scenic Northeast Washington Adventure
Day 1: Waterfalls, Scenic Byways & Cozy Stays
Morning:

- Nine Mile Falls Trail: Hike this short yet rewarding forest trail in the Colville National Forest to see a beautiful waterfall, especially lively in the spring.
- Sherman Pass Scenic Byway: Continue east over Sherman Pass, the highest highway pass in Washington, and take in interpretive stops along the way.

Afternoon:
- Meyers Falls Interpretive Center (Kettle Falls): Learn about the historic falls that played a key role for Indigenous peoples and early settlers.
- Lunch in Colville: Stroll along historic Main Street, browse boutique shops, and enjoy a delicious meal at a local eatery.
- Douglas Falls: Located just outside of Colville, the Douglas Falls Grange Park offers an easily accessible view of the falls.


Evening:
- Crystal Falls: A quick stop just off Hwy 20 to see this roadside gem, look for a sign and pullout area on the south side of the highway.
- Dinner & Stay at Beaver Lodge Resort: Enjoy dinner with a view of the lake, and stay in one of the resort’s cozy cabins.

Day 2: Waterfalls, History & Grand Views
Morning:
- Breakfast at Beaver Lodge Resort before continuing east on the scenic Tiger Hwy.
- Tiger Historical Museum: A fascinating stop at the intersection of Hwy 20 and Hwy 31 to learn about the area’s rich history.
Midday:
- Sweet Creek Falls: A short, scenic trail leads to a beautiful double-drop waterfall surrounded by lush greenery.
- Box Canyon Dam Viewpoint: While not a waterfall in the strict sense, the view of the dam, railroad trestle and water is not to be missed!

Day 3: Grand Falls & Farewell Treats
Morning:

- Peewee Falls Scenic Overlook: Stand in awe of this 200-ft cascade plunging into the Pend Oreille River.
